Nike Air Tailwind ‘92 Retro - First Look

Nike Air Tailwind '92 Retro

TSG broke the news about the return of the Nike Air Tailwind ‘92 last week. We used a picture of the OG’s to break the news, but actual sample pics are now available for your viewing pleasure. Two original colorways will be available in 2009, and of course Nike will introduce some new colorways. We’ll post one of the retro + Tailwind ’92’s soon, so stay tuned.

On the flip side, the air bubble on the retro appears to be smaller. As always, you can expect Nike to make some minor, and sometimes major changes, but overall the Tailwind ‘92 retro will return in OG form. Our major concern is for Nike to bless the retro with thick mesh as featured on the OG’s. Oh how your feet will thank you! You’ve been searching for an OG pair, but come next year you’ll be able to get them hassle free. via CT

2009 Nike Air Penny Retro Love

Nike Air Penn 2 and Air Penny 3

Air Penny fans get ready for 2009. As you should already know, Nike will re-release the popular Air Penny II this year, and they will continue to show Penny retro love in ‘09. The Air Penny III retro will release in both OG colorways, and what has already been dubbed as the “Eggplant” Foamposite will also make it’s debut next year.

Nike created a Air Penny hybrid called the “1/2 Cent” which is a combo of Penny’s signature kicks made into one sneaker. It’s also been said that the Air Trainer III’s we posted Friday pay homage to Penny Hardaway’s B-Ball teams; Magic, Heat, and Suns.

Seen in the image above is the Air Penny III retro and the new colorway of the Air Penny II retro. The Air Penny II features black, varsity red, and varsity maize. Both of them will drop next year. via NT

Burn baby Burn! - Say No to Fakes Vol. 14

When buying sneakers we have to be extremely careful. Take our very own TSG reader ATLforces33 for example. He recently bought a pair of black/cement Air Jordan 4’s, but after a close inspection he later found out the 4’s were fake. He’s a well respected dude in Atlanta, and he’s very aware of all the rules in the sneaker culture. With that said, he informed me that he would make a special video for our Say No to Fakes series. Well, he’s done with the video and I’m sure all our readers will get a kick out of what he did. Burn baby burn is all I care to say, and the moral of this video is…say no to fakes!

Props to ATLforces33 for the dope vid

Leaders x Reebok Reverse Jam - Update

Leaders x Reebok Reverse Jam - News & Info

Today we have updated news about the Leaders and Reebok Reverse Jam. Originally their Chicago transit system inspired Reverse Jam was suppose to drop in July, but Ty of Leaders 1354 informs us that the release will definitely be in August. Leaders made two colorways and we saw the red pair last time. We also have a first look at the blue colorway with updated info on the inspiration. Here’s what Ty had to say:

I wanted something simple to represent the Chicago pretty much. Our transit system is one of the best in the world and thats where the inspiration came from. The grey shoe represeting the train and the speckles represeting all of the train lines that run throughout the city. Theres a red pair (south side) and a blue pair (north side) represting the trains that operate near both shops.

They release release next month, so stay tuned for more release details. Check out more detailed pics. Read the rest of this entry »
